Molson Donations Funds

Proud to Play our Part

Molson has a long-standing tradition of supporting the communities in which it operates - a tradition that dates back to its founder, John Molson, and his commitment to social responsibility and community involvement.

Established in 1973 to manage the philanthropic giving of the corporation, the Molson Donations Fund (MDF) is active at both the national and community levels across Canada. It helps Molson stay in touch with specific community needs and ensures that funds are allocated where the need for support is greatest.

Giving Framework

John Molson believed in creating vibrant communities that are active and wholly supported by its residents. In that vein, Molson has developed a framework for all of its giving activities that focuses on the development of vibrant communities for young adult Canadians. The program will focus on three distinct yet intertwined areas:

  • Active Lifestyles
  • Healthy Communities
  • Skills Improvement

Please see the Philanthropic Policy to understand specific targets under each area that are of interest to Molson.

Molson's community investment program will enable young adults to play their part in building healthier communities. Imagine Canada is a national charitable organization that delivers research based products and services to support and strengthen Canada’s 161,000 charities and nonprofit organizations. Through innovative partnerships that bring community groups together with business and government, Imagine Canada aims to contribute to building vibrant communities. Headquartered in Toronto, with offices in Ottawa and Calgary, Imagine Canada’s Caring Company program is the country’s leading corporate citizenship initiative.

Molson is committed to donating a minimum of one per cent of pre-tax Canadian profits to the charitable sector each year and encourages and supports employee giving and volunteering.
